A Letter From Gladys Brangman
The murder of George Floyd on May 25th has unleashed the pain and injustice we have all been experiencing for decades. The long list of innocent victims, that keeps getting longer, has reached the point of no more. The streets are filled with protests and the voices of pain, fear, and anger are heard all over the United States and beyond, following months of the world pandemic, Covid-19, that has had and still has, economic impacts on our businesses.
Business Leaders of Colors is a group of small business owners committed to social justice. This network was formed to level the playing field and create a supportive space for commerce that benefits the underserved business community. At BLOC we are dedicated to making an impact and to bringing change, but need your help and support to make our voice even stronger. We are working to create and rollout an improved member experience within the next few weeks and into the future.
BLOC has been asked by the City of Ithaca and the Tompkins Chamber of Commerce to put together a list of Black Owned Businesses, with the objective of sharing it widely in our community, and creating support for black business.
By joining the Business Leaders of Colors network, you will gain:
An enhanced web presence
Listing in our business directory
Access to business and financial training
Connect to a thriving network of business owners
And more features we will be rolling out in the future
But more than that, by joining you will help us grow the network and be a strong voice of change. A voice that is here to listen to you, and create platforms to support you. Being listed on the current list is not enough to make a change. Help us become a strong community of businesses by joining us today.
We are here to answer questions and listen to your comments and thoughts, we are here to let your voice be heard with many other voices so we will all FINALLY, be heard.
We look forward to working with you!
Gladys
