Foodnet Meals on Wheels Seeking Food Service Operations Manager
Foodnet Meals on Wheels has an exciting position opportunity! We are seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Food Service Operations Manager. The Food Service Operations Manager position is a key member of the management team that oversees the organization’s daily food production, meal delivery services, and personnel. This position is responsible for recipe development, menu planning, food safety, and general operational oversight.
Summary of position duties
• Responsible for the management of Foodnet’s food production and meal delivery services.
• Coordinates recipe development and menu planning with the food service personnel and the registered dietitian to meet the needs and preferences of Foodnet participants.
• Oversees the operations, workflow, and personnel of the central kitchen, meal delivery and congregate meal services.
• Responsible for the coordination of the organization’s inventory tracking, facility, and fleet maintenance schedules.
• Assists with the development and oversight of the organization’s food expenses and budget.
• Oversees outreach drivers, meal delivery, central kitchen, and congregate program personnel, which include hiring/termination processes, supervision, monitoring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Develops daily, monthly, and quarterly reports.
• Develops, implements, and records quality assurance procedures to monitor food delivery, storage, preparation, and service standards.
• Participates in occasional community network meetings or other community activities to help enhance the organization’s profile.
• Participates in coordination and supervision of students, interns, and volunteers.
Qualifications
• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in nutrition, food service, or other related fields. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in a management position in institutional food service is strongly preferred.
• 1+ years’ experience working with older adults, individuals with chronic illness, and/or individuals living with physical, cognitive, intellectual, mental, or developmental challenges is strongly preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license required.

• Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and communicate effectively with personnel, students, volunteers, and staff.
• Capacity and commitment to perform all Foodnet responsibilities through the lens of inclusion, awareness of diverse cultures and ensuring all people are treated equitably.
• Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Documents. Experience with menu design software and social media is a plus.
The salary range for this position is $52,000 - $55,300/annually. Competitive benefits and generous paid vacation and personal time are available for the position.
